Examination Cost
Our standard examination fee starts at $260 (updated November 1st). This includes a complete ophthalmic examination of both eyes, using slit lamp biomicroscopy and indirect ophthalmoscopy and tonometry (measures pressures of the eyes). Tonometry is required for all new patients and once yearly for established patients. Certain conditions may require more frequent tonometry measurements. Any additional diagnostic procedures that are indicated for your pet’s particular problem (such as tear testing, fluorescein staining of the eye, etc.) are not included in the standard examination. The standard examination does not include cost of medication. Same-day work-in emergency appointments will start at $325 for the exam and eye pressure (tonometry) reading.
Since cost varies widely by condition, please call us if you would like to discuss your pet’s upcoming appointment and we will do our best to provide an estimate. We cannot guarantee an accurate estimate prior to the exam. Please let us know if you would like us to quote beyond the standard examination fee during your appointment.

Surgery Cost
Financial estimates provided by telephone, based on your description of the eye abnormality present, are approximate estimates. Estimates often change based on exam findings. Each patient is different and the same abnormality may vary in severity or conformation. If surgery is indicated for your pet, we will provide you with a complete written financial estimate for the surgical procedure immediately after the examination on the day of your appointment.
It is our policy that blood work (a CBC, serum biochemical profile and electrolytes) must be performed prior to general anesthesia and surgery. You have your regular veterinarian perform blood work prior to the day of surgery, or we can perform it on the morning of planned surgery. It is NOT an option to decline blood work. We will accept blood work that has been performed by your veterinarian within the last 3 months. If blood work was abnormal, your pet is elderly, or diabetic, we may require that it is repeated as close to the surgery day as possible.
